Certification
Gorilla Machinery has structured the certification of used
foundry equipment to alleviate these common and substantial
problems in 3 ways:
- 5 Star Certification
Program -
All equipment has a condition rating:
5 - Next to new
4 - Good Condition - Read-to-Go
3 - Fair Condition - Works
2 - Runs / Needs Attention
1 - Parts Machine
|
|
- We only sell inspected & certified equipment that
is either:
- On-site in the Gorilla warehouse
- Off-site, but has been personally inspected by
Gorilla Machinery personnel or a qualified inspector.
|
- We offer inspection services of equipment not
belonging to Gorilla for a nominal fee plus normal
expenses.
- Off-site inspection (anywhere in North America) –
Price will be dependent on availability of personnel,
location, and extent of the inspection.
- On-site services offered include:
- We will receive equipment, connect to services,
operate in dry cycle mode, and inspect to determine
overall functionality (fee based).
- Testing and inspection: complete pressure washing
and analysis of structure, mechanical, hydraulic,
electrical function, controls, plc and programming.
Once the testing and certification inspection is
performed, we will submit a written report with
condition rating, functionality, and estimated cost to
repair / rebuild / rework / refurbish (R4) to an
higher certification, with the minimum being 3-star.
While these testing fees may be perceived to be
expensive, there is much less financial exposure than
the traditional method of sending a check for 100%
payment and hoping the machine is as described. If it
isn’t, and you have to use in-house personnel to
repair, which in and of itself can be very expensive
if you take into account the fact that personnel are
not performing their regular duties while working on
unfamiliar equipment, tying up other operational
personnel to source parts, write PO’s, receive parts
and hope they are correct while probably paying more
for these components than a machine re-builder like
Gorilla (Palmer).
Once R4 (repair / rebuild / rework / refurbish)
work is performed, the customer is invited to visit
our facility to see the machine in operation or we
will videotape the machine in detail while cycling and
submit the video to the customer.

Note:
We will not certify any machine we have not inspected
either in house or at owner’s location or had inspected by a
certified inspector. Machines listed that are not in our
possession or inspected will not be sold
by Gorilla. They must be purchased directly from the owner
and Gorilla (Palmer) takes no responsibility for condition
or value.
